The True Meaning of Christmas.

Yucatan Rural Villages

Who We Are Helping

We would like to reach out to you once again on behalf of the children and families in the three villages we have helped for the past 13 years. The first one is called San Marcos, where there are 65 families with 109 children. The second one is called Xlapak, with 55 families and 91 children.  The third village called Tinunca, has 45 families and 65 children. The area is in the south part of the Yucatan Peninsula and is considered one of the poorest in the state. The villages are about 3 and a half hours from Merida, which means they do not get much help from any volunteers. We love to help these families, as you can feel and see their appreciation every year.

The kids are so happy to see Santa’s truck pulling up, filled with toys and food for their families. They run to get in line to receive their gift from Santa.

Since
Mérida, Yucatán Village

The villages most people don’t know exist. We go to.

Each child in the rural villages of Mérida, Yucatán, receives their own gift along with a bag filled with candy, juice and cookies. Each family receives a food hamper. This would not be possible without the donations from our family and friends in Canada, the US and Mexico.

From the very first year, we were amazed and so touched by how many people wanted to be a part of these events. We always take videos of the gift giving, so we can share with everyone. It is something that is amazing to see and be a part of. It is our goal, with your help, to continue with this event each and every year.
